Belmont sandblasts gates, railings, garden furniture and cast iron back to bare metal, then powder coats or paints them so they last. It's everyday work for us at our yard near Burton upon Trent. Bring it in, or ask about collection for larger items.
What we renew
- Driveway and garden gates
- Railings, fencing and balustrades
- Cast iron and aluminium benches

- Table bases and stools
- Fire pits, planters and ornaments
- Dog crates, cages and pens
- Wheelbarrows, mangles and antiques
Patina, not paint
Not everything needs a coat of colour. We blast cast iron table bases for a furniture maker who wants a natural patina finish. Those tables end up in restaurants abroad. If you want bare metal with character rather than a painted finish, tell us and we'll blast to suit.
Finishes
For most outdoor metal we recommend powder coating, in gloss, satin or matt and in the colour of your choice. For very large or fixed items we can apply a primer and paint system instead.

No job too small

Frequently asked questions
Can you sandblast a wrought iron gate?
Yes. Wrought and cast iron gates are among the most common jobs we do. We blast off the old paint and rust, then powder coat or paint. Large gates can be collected. Ask when you request a quote.
Can you restore cast iron garden furniture?
Yes. Cast iron benches, tables and chairs blast up well. Wooden slats need removing first, and we can advise. Aluminium furniture is blasted with a gentler media.
Do you restore cast iron signs and lampposts?
Yes. Old cast iron signs, lampposts and bollards are stripped back so the detail shows again, then finished in your choice of colour, or left with a natural patina.
Is powder coating better than painting a gate?
For a gate or railing that's been blasted to bare metal, yes. Powder coating is harder and more chip-resistant than brushed paint, and it bonds to clean metal, so it lasts much longer before needing attention.
Is anything too small?
No. We do single chairs, a few railings, dog crates, a cast iron sign. If it's metal and it's rusty, we can renew it.
