Belmont blast cleans oak beams, brickwork and stone in Derbyshire homes, from our yard about five miles over the border near Burton upon Trent. We set the method for each material, from soft South Derbyshire brick to Peak District gritstone and limestone.
Derbyshire's mix of materials
In the south, around Repton, Melbourne, Etwall and Hilton, it's red-brick farmhouses, cottages and barns with oak beams. Up the Derwent Valley and into the Peak, around Belper, Wirksworth, Matlock and Bakewell, it's stone cottages, mill conversions and field barns. Each needs a different touch, and getting it wrong erodes the face of the brick or stone. We test first, every time.
- Oak beams, trusses and lintels, stain and paint removed
- Stone and brick inglenooks and fireplaces
- Interior stone and brick feature walls
- External sandstone and gritstone cleaning
- Barn and mill conversions before finishing

Frequently asked questions
Can you clean gritstone and limestone?
Yes. We adjust the media and pressure for Derbyshire's harder gritstone and softer limestone and sandstone, testing an area first so the stone's face isn't eroded.
Do you work in the Peak District?
Yes, including cottages, barns and mill conversions around Matlock, Wirksworth, Bakewell and Buxton.
Can you remove paint from a stone fireplace?
Yes. Painted and soot-stained stone and brick fireplaces are a common job, often done alongside the beams.
